Weekend Trip

21 Mar

Made a weekend trip to West Godavari district. The purpose is to attend a couple of weddings and the purpose is well served during the weekend. The train to Palakol is late, but that helped me grab those small samosas as morning snack (I won’t dare calling it a breakfast.) Had an opportunity to meet a lot of relatives over lunch on Saturday. The social meets continued over the afternoon’s card games and evening’s dinner. The first wedding is at 9.40pm and I took a short nap break from 11.30pm to 2.00am before attending thee second wedding. After I am back from second wedding at 4.30am, it is an extended sleep time and a lazy Sunday morning till I got ready for a few social visits. After lunch, helped myself with a three scoop icecream topped up liberally with fruits and nuts. That really helped in fighting with potential acidity. Had a small serving of lamb biriyani at another gathering in the afternoon. After a few more social events and after watching a few overs of cricket on TV, I boarded my overnight train to Hyderabad.

Two full days of hectic social activity. Nice weekend!

Those two weeks

24 Feb

The last two weeks are more of a roller coaster ride around hospitals. First, my dad got a special type of grafting done for a couple of 25 year old scars on his leg. Those apparently healing but reappearing scars have troubled him a lot and these scars needed some special attention, both during surgery and post surgery. Then early last week, my father-in-law went for gallbladder stone removal. What we thought of it being a minor laproscopic surgery, but once he is operation theater, he has to go for a regular open surgery. So his recovery process is quite a bit painful and longer.

That made me visit the hospitals twice or thrice everyday and I think I befriended every staff in and around the operation theaters and in-patient rooms. The visits are going to get sparse starting this weekend.

Multiple Inheritance and Tata Nano

12 Feb

Latha is helping Surya earlier today with his Object Oriented Computing classwork. They are having a brainstorming session on examples of multiple inheritance. Suddenly Surya yelled that Tata Nano is a perfect example for multiple inheritance. When asked about the justification, he says the model inherited features of both cars and Auto Rikshaws. Well, all I can say is he knows what is multiple inheritance…

Spurthi’s Rank & Schoolday 2010

04 Dec

We got a call from Meridian school in the middle of the last week, stating that Spurthi stood first in the school rankings for the year 2009-2010. She top-ranked the team as per the overall CGPA informed a couple of days ago.

The school conducted an annual sports day today at Gachibowli stadium. We reached there by 2.15pm and settled down at a location with reasonable view. Surya reached school early in the morning, for his practice sessions for the dance program.

The school made elaborate arrangements for the event at the stadium. Prajnan Ojha, cricketer, is the guest on honor. Spurthi is given her medal and certificate in the first few minutes of the event.

Madhu also came by to wish Spurthi on the occassion. I also met a few friends there at the event: MSR, JRR, Vani and others.

All the sports day programs are very well organized. It took till about 7.30pm by the time the event is concluded with Jaya-Ho song.

After the event, we met with a few relatives of Latha for dinner. We had a fulfilling dinner and then headed home.

Really a great and memorable day for all of us…
