ESOPs in India, Tax deductions and Employee Benefits

The ruling by Supreme Court on ESOPs stating that the companies are not obliged to deduct taxes based on the possible income through perquisites is a welcome decision. In the long run, this will encourage better levels of employee stakeholding in companies and long term tenures of employees with companies.
