Another repair session for Santro

The muffler (silencer) of my Hyundai Santro is gone completely. It made a lot of noise during bumps and is on the verge of falling down any time. That state for a 5 year old car is very surprising. Comparing that with my 9 year old Maruti, the older one is doing much better with its durability of parts. Took my Santro to Laxmi Hyundai on Friday to get the muffler (silencer) replaced. The cost for muffler replacement and couple of tail lamp bulbs turned out to be Rs 6600. The cost of ownership of this vehicle is becoming more painful by the day. Moreover, there are very few Hyundai authorized service centers and the overall experience going there is getting worse by the day.
