Got Compaq F730us recently when Sunitha arrived from US. Today I spent considerable time with it. The preinstalled Windows Vista Home Premium is backed up and recovery disks are made. However, GParted (v 3.4-7 I have) failed to boot up with the laptop. Need to check what the root cause is.
Until that is sorted out, it may be unwise to attempt a OpenSolaris installation.
