Upgraded to FireFox 2.0 on Solaris x86

03 Nov

I run Solaris x86 (latest Nevada build) on my laptop. Last night, in the midst of a series of meetings, downloaded FireFox 2.0 binaries for Solaris x86 and installed it.
Installation is very smooth. There is one single package (I chose the pkgadd version of the distribution) and it installed without any glitch. When I ran the binary, it first checked the list of plugins that are no longer supported with FF 2.0. Then it also checked for the list of plugins available for 2.0 and downloaded them. The entire process took about 5 minutes and I am up and running with FireFox 2.0.
