Back from weekend trip

I am back from my weekend trip to West Godavari district. Visited my parents and took them around to visit some of our relatives. It is a whirl wind two day trip during which I visited about 20 families. It is a rainy weekend of a low monsoon season. That restricted my mobility a bit, but not by much. It is always good to spend a weekend in the backdrop of such a conservative lifestyle. The return trip is on a heavy rush train. Met a few more old friends during the train journey. Now back in Hyderabad, back to regular life.
During this trip, ate a lot of seafood and no meat. Every meal has prawns based dishes. An interesting change.
Mothers Day Lunch & GVK-One

Happy Mothers Day!
Kids wanted to take Latha out for lunch on Mothers Day. Due to relatives’ visit, we are a bit delayed. We went to the latest mall in Hyderabad, GVK-One. There is ample parking and there is considerable crowd too. We parked 4 levels below ground. We had lunch at KFC. Then we roamed around a bit in the mall. Spurthi liked the aquarium at the entrance. We spent some time at the arcade games. Overall, the mall is well maintained and worth visiting. The current occupancy rate should be about 60% or so and more shops are being setup there right now.

Movie Aakasamantha

Watched Aakasamantha on Saturday. It is an out and out Prakashraj movie. Reminds me of “Father of the bride” at times and is an enjoyable 1.5 hour movie.
After the movie and closer to midnight, all four of us grabbed double-scoops-on-cone icecreams. Eating the icecream while sitting on the staircase of the movie theater, overseeing the dark parking lot, is a nice experience. It is Kwality time.

Thanks to all those who called during the day to wish Latha.
Spurthi and Surya gave Latha the “Best Mom Award” in the evening. Then we headed out for our dinner. Being a mid-week day, there is not enough time to go for a full pledged, multi-course dinner. We stopped by at Just Bake, our regular bakers these days, for a quick bite. The cake is served back at home. Here are the proceedings of the evening as seen by the lens:

Pavan, our coworker at NetEnrich, got married recently. The wedding reception is held on Sunday night in Hyderabad. More than 10 of our colleagues attended the reception. Came to know that the bride’s dad is my engineering school alumni and a close family friend of one of my cousins. He is also related to Latha’s cousin. Its a small world.
Had a decent couple of hours spent there with all the guests. It is topped up with a tasty dinner. For those who missed the dinner: Mutton (lamb) curry is very tasty.
Seetaphal and Haleem

Last week, I started full throttle on Seetaphal and Haleem. This year, I got haleem only from Hyderabad House. There is an outlest just about a mile from my home, so it is very easy to get a take away. So this good season is going to last just a few more days. Let me make the best out of it.
