Free Advertisement using Wireless

Just scanned thru the wireless networks using my Solaris laptop and I found an interesting advertisement as part of the ESSID of one of the networks! Snippet of the output here (name of the company changed to avoid free publicity 😉 )

Good Advertisements

A couple of advertisements I liked in the past two weeks or so:

First one is from Babool bubblegum. The ad starring three birds, a turtle and a monkey is very impressive. The colors and animation are very appealing, the voice overs are perfect and the theme is excellent. A refreshing advertisement.

The second one is from Idea Cellular. The ad featuring a monkey that steals a phone but returns it back due to continuous calls (read good signal reception) wherever it goes. Builds a lot of curiosity and adds good amount of fun.

Pepsi does it again

Another washout ad from Pepsi! This is aired during recent Australia-WIindies cricket match. A kid is happily throwing stones into the pond of a temple and some chanting from the sky scares (do they intend some other feeling than scare? if so, they failed) him. He runs home fast amidst the increased chanting. The chanting sound has something to do with India but the purpose is not conveyed. After heading home and drinking from a bottle of pepsi, the kid realizes that this chanting is emerging from the bottle. Finally, is it a scary chanting that drives the kid home, or is it an invitation from Pepsi that makes him get home? Draw your own conclusions…
Such a long ad that cannot convey a solid message for such a popular brand? Another washout from pepsi after the much costlier Pepsi TV branding.

Advertisements Section Added

TV Programs are one thing, but Advertisements could make the program more or very less interesting. For the last few months, whenever I see a very good or a very irritating advertisement, I wanted to blog about it. I always liked the Bekaar and the Best column in Brand Equity Section of Wenesdays’ Economic Times. Here comes my new blog category, expressing my personal views on the Advertisements I see or read. Note that all the views expressed are my personal and have nothing to do with my employment and family affiliations.
