The build master’s nightmare! Those unseen DOS characters that confuse the make utility. Thats what happened when I ftp-ed a configuration file from an email to one of my build systems. Everything looked fine with the file on the linux box I was doing a build on, but the builds behaved strangely. This file is the last thing I suspected amongst a dozen other changes I made. As a result, my weekend was just gone!
